Kristoffer V. Sargent is of counsel with KF Law, LLC. His practice concentrates on business and complex litigation, construction law, and contract disputes. He represents clients in litigation involving a multitude of issues including, for example, restrictive covenants (non-compete, non-solicitation and confidentiality), business contracts, construction contracts, lien claims, tort claims (negligence, slander, fraud, etc.), equitable claims (unjust enrichment, quantum meruit, promissory estoppel, etc.), landlord/tenant law, quiet title actions, and the Americans with Disabilities Act. Mr. Sargent is highly accomplished in negotiations, motion practice, litigation strategy, jury selection, trial and appellate work.

Mr. Sargent began practicing law with The Angell Law Firm, LLC in Atlanta, Georgia, a firm that specializes in personal injury litigation. While there Mr. Sargent started and developed the Firm’s nascent criminal law practice. Mr. Sargent then started his own firm, The Sargent Law Firm, and operated as solo practitioner until joining KF Law, LLC in June 2015.

Mr. Sargent and Ms. Fodor were lead counsel in a $75 million business dispute in Delaware that required proceedings in both the Superior Court and Court of Chancery of that state.​

State and Federal Courts

Mr. Sargent is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, and is authorized to practice law in the United States Federal Courts for the Middle District and Northern District of Georgia. He has been admitted pro hac vice to practice law in Delaware, and conducts litigation in the Superior Courts of Cobb County, Fulton County, Cherokee County, Gwinnett County, DeKalb County, Fayette County, and Coweta County.

Clerkships

Mr. Sargent clerked for the Honorable Judge Jacqueline Bolton and the Honorable Judge Marie Williams of the Circuit Court of Hamilton County, Tennessee. Mr. Sargent was also law clerk to veteran litigator James Copeland of the Copeland Law Firm in Atlanta, Georgia.

Education

Mr. Sargent obtained his law degree from the University of Tennessee College of Law, in Knoxville, Tennessee, where he was a member of the Moot Court Board and won first place in the Advocates’ Prize Moot Competition, in which the participants argued before a panel of Tennessee Supreme Court justices. While there he also made the Dean’s List with Honors and High Honors, and received a Certificate of Academic Excellence. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee, and was the recipient of the Top-Tenn Academic Scholarship Award and the National Merit Finalist Top Scholarship Award.
